If you thought this was a typical blog, you were wrong. I’ve been eating venison (wild deer meat) since I was a baby and I continue to believe that it is the best meat out there (wild, deer are overpopulated, you know all of that is organic and free of hormones/antibiotics). As a paleo dieter for about a year and taco lover since tacos first landed in my mouth, I needed a paleo taco recipe. I had been cheating with soft corn taco shells (and continue to when the need strikes), but one day I decided to change all of that and make my own tortillas.
It’s all over Instagram and Pinterest and whatever health blogs you follow (hey, that’s me). What the heck is bone broth and why is it “supposedly” so healthy?
I first had pickled watermelon rind at a farm-to-table restaurant in Milan (pronounced MAI-LIN), NY and it seemed odd until I put it in my mouth. Watermelon rind is pretty good and I’ve even had it raw. While at my local co-op, someone had dropped a whole watermelon and it became cull. I took the free watermelon home, shared it with my family, and told them all to keep the rind.
Eating healthy can be extremely difficult especially when you’re following the very strict paleo diet. I’ve been experimenting with different breakfast options, including PANCAKES. Yes, I’ve found a very simple recipe for gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, pancakes. They’re sweet, taste like “real” pancakes, and they’re pink! The original recipe was extremely basic, so I added my own twist to it: delicious and very nutritious beets!
